True Love
Thursday, October 18, 2012 @ 10/18/2012 05:33:00 PM

What is love? Its seems like the simplest thing but it can be the most complicated too. Ironic, indeed.....

Love to me, is the widest thing ever. It is not necessarily constricted between males and females, there can be also love among friends, family, strangers even our enemies. The Bible says this:

1 Cor 13:4-8 - Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails;.....

Love is truly as such. In fact, all kinds of love should be as such. I feel that it is common for people to "rank" their extent of love to people, or should I say, people now are starting to set standards for their love.

A girlfriend might say, "Choose - me or your mother.", or "Why do you treat her so well, do you love her too?"

A teacher might ask, "Who is the person you love the most in your life?"

I doubt the motives of these questions. Conditional love is not true. Yes, we might dislike something or somebody, but we should still love them for who they are. Why can't a person love many people at the same time? Or why is it necessary to choose who we love the most? Does it mean that one is disloyal when he loves his friends like how he loves his partner? Or is it against the law for a person to love a stranger as much as his best friend?

Love has no constraints. Love has no boundaries. Love has no requirements nor limits. Love is for everybody. When one is bounded by the urge to win another person's love, and not willing to share the love with others, I call it jealousy, selfish, childish and self-centered.

It is not wrong for us to love one thing more than others, but the point is, we should not love one thing to the extent that we hate all others.

It is indeed a blessing to have somebody love you, but do not take it all as yours. Share the love, because love truly has no limits. Be not blinded by jealousy, but be glad that there is still love in the world. Keep spreading it, so that the world will be a better place for all.
